Incident
At 0330 universal coordinated time on September 3, 2011, a Robinson R44 helicopter registered as VH-HCA was maneuvering near Plutonic Aerodrome when it collided with terrain. The helicopter was operated by Wieland Helicopter Company under the applicable Australian civil air regulations.
Injuries and Damage
The pilot was fatally injured. The passenger was seriously injured. The helicopter was substantially damaged.
