What happened
On September 10, 2011, at approximately 2330 UTC, a Robinson R44 II, registered as PR-CEC, crashed into a wooded area near Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The aircraft had departed from Aeroporto Santos Dumont (SBRJ) at approximately 2320 UTC for the purpose of an aerial photography flight.
The impact with the terrain caused substantial damage to the aircraft. The pilot and one passenger sustained 2 fatal injuries.
