Accident Overview
On October 28, 2011, at 1930 coordinated universal time, a Piper PA-31T aircraft, registered in Austria as OE-FKG, impacted terrain under unknown circumstances near Toulouse Blagnac Airport (LFBO) in Toulouse, France. The flight had originated from Kassel, Germany. Instrument meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the accident.
Occupants and Injuries
The pilot and two passengers sustained fatal injuries. One additional passenger suffered serious injuries.
Flight Sequence
French investigators received reports that the pilot reported a problem while flying the instrument landing system (ILS) approach to runway 14R. The airplane subsequently struck the ground, leading to a post-impact fire.
