Accident Details
On November 10, 2011, at 1315 coordinated universal time, a Piper PA-31 aircraft, bearing Swiss registration HB-LOT, was destroyed when it impacted terrain after takeoff near Cottens, Switzerland. The pilot, who was also the owner and sole occupant, sustained fatal injuries. The flight had departed from Ecuvillens, Switzerland, and was en route to Geneva, Switzerland.

According to reports received by Swiss investigators, the airplane struck trees and then a power line after takeoff before impacting the ground.
