On November 12, 2011, at approximately 1540 universal coordinated time (UTC), a Piper PA-28-181 aircraft, registered as G-BXRG and owned by Alderney Flying Training LTD, ditched in the English Channel about 25 miles west of Alderney, United Kingdom. The aircraft subsequently sank and is presumed to have sustained substantial damage. The passenger, uninjured, was rescued. The pilot is missing and is presumed to have sustained fatal injuries.
