What happened
On November 13, 2011, at approximately 1821 UTC, a Cirrus SR22, registration SP-IKP, crashed near the Katowice-Pyrzowice airport in Katowice, Poland. The flight had originated from San Nicolo Airport near Venice, Italy.
During the flight, the aircraft impacted trees and terrain, resulting in substantial damage to the airplane. The pilot and three passengers sustained 4 fatal injuries. At the time of the accident, the aircraft was operating under instrument meteorological conditions (IMC).
