Accident Details
On December 6, 2011, about 1815 Universal Coordinated Time (UTC), a Piper PA-28-236 aircraft with Colombian registration HK2308 collided with a tree during an instructional flight. The collision resulted in substantial damage to the left wing and separation of the left main landing gear. The airplane subsequently landed at Aerodromo Guaymaral (SKGY) in Bogotá, Colombia. Neither the flight instructor nor the student pilot sustained injuries.

The aircraft was a Piper PA-28-236, operated by Aeroclub de Colombia. The flight departed earlier that day from Palonegro International Airport (SKBG) in Lebrija, Colombia, at an unspecified time. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed for the duration of the flight.
