Accident Overview
On December 29, 2011, at approximately 1415 universal coordinated time, a Piper PA28-161, Colombian registration HK3934, was substantially damaged when it impacted terrain while in cruise flight near Andres Bello, Tachira, Venezuela. The two pilots on board were fatally injured.
Flight Details
The intended visual flight rules instructional flight had departed from Arauca, Colombia (SKUC), and was destined for Cucuta, Colombia (SKCC). The aircraft was conducting a training mission at the time of the accident.
