What happened
On January 18, 2012, at approximately 1715 UTC, a Bell 206 L-4 helicopter, registered as YV1985, crashed into a mountain near Montaña Auyantepui within the Canaima National Park in Bolívar State, Venezuela.
The flight was operating as a sightseeing mission, departing from Aeródromo de Luepa (SVLP) with an intended destination of Uonquen Airport (SVUQ). During the flight, precipitation was present near the site of the accident. The collision resulted in 5 fatal injuries, involving the pilot and four passengers.
