Incident Details
During a landing on a runway bordered by snow berms, a twin-engine turboprop airplane experienced a collision with a snow berm located at the approach end of the runway. The pilot reported that as the airplane approached the runway threshold, engine power was reduced to flight idle to initiate a descent. Shortly thereafter, the main landing gear made contact with the snow berm.
Damage
A postflight inspection of the airplane revealed substantial damage to the left wheel well bulkhead assembly. No other damage was noted in the report.
Pilot Statement
