What happened
On March 6, 2012, at approximately 1400 UTC, a Piper PA-28R-20ASS with registration PT-NKS was destroyed after impacting terrain near Eliseu Martins, Brazil. The aircraft was in the cruise phase of flight when it experienced a loss of control.
The flight originated from Aueroporto Nossa Senhora de Fatima (SWLE) in Belem, Brazil, and was en route to Bom Jesus do Gurgueia (SNGG), Brazil. The accident resulted in 3 fatal injuries, involving the pilot and two passengers.
