Incident Overview
On April 4, 2012, at approximately 0909 UTC, a RyanAir Boeing 737-800, registration EI-DAH, experienced a loss of cabin pressure while operating a scheduled passenger flight from Bergamo, Italy to Nottingham, United Kingdom. The event occurred near Lagano, Switzerland. The aircraft was carrying 6 crew members and 121 passengers. No damage to the aircraft was reported. Among the occupants, 13 passengers sustained minor injuries; no serious injuries were reported.
Investigation
The investigation of the incident was delegated to the German Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accidents Investigation (BFU) by the Swiss Accident Investigation Board (SAIB). In accordance with ICAO Annex 13, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) appointed an Accredited Representative to assist the investigation, given that the United States is the State of Manufacture and Design of the airplane. All inquiries regarding the incident are to be directed to the BFU.
