What happened
On April 21, 2012, at 1750 UTC, a Piper PA-23-250, registered TG-VCH, crashed into terrain near Guatemala City, Guatemala. The flight had originated from La Aurora International Airport (MGGT).
At the time of the accident, weather conditions were characterized by visual meteorological conditions (VMC) with a visibility of 5 statute miles and winds from 360 degrees at 06 knots. Following the impact with the terrain, a post-impact fire occurred. The accident resulted in 3 fatal injuries involving the pilot and two passengers.
