Notification

The Austrian Civil Aviation Safety Investigation Authority (CASIA) has notified the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of an accident involving a Boeing 757 airplane that occurred on July 28, 2012.

Investigation

CASIA delegated the investigation to the German Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accidents Investigation (BFU). In accordance with the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, the NTSB has appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the BFU investigation in the role of the State of Manufacturer and Design of the airplane.

International Cooperation

All investigative information will be released by the BFU. The NTSB's participation is limited to providing assistance as requested by the BFU under the framework of international aviation accident investigation protocols.
