Accident Details
On September 25, 2012, at approximately 0155 Universal Coordinated Time, a Piper PA-34-200T aircraft, registered in Brazil as PT-RDG, was substantially damaged when it impacted the Atlantic Ocean. The accident occurred shortly after takeoff from Ilheus Jorge Amado Airport (SBIL) in Ilheus, Bahia, Brazil. The flight was destined for Brasilia International Airport (SBBR) in Brasilia, Brazil. The pilot, the sole occupant, sustained fatal injuries.
