What happened
On September 25, 2012, at approximately 0155 UTC, a Piper PA-34-200T, registered as PT-RDG, crashed into the Atlantic Ocean. The aircraft had departed from the Ilheus Jorge Amado Airport (SBIL) in Ilheus, Bahia, Brazil, and was en route to Brasilia International Airport (SBBR) in Brasilia, Brazil.
The impact occurred shortly after takeoff, resulting in substantial damage to the aircraft. The pilot sustained 1 fatal injury.
