Incident Overview
On September 26, 2012, at 0819 coordinated universal time, a Cirrus SR22, registered as S5-DIW, was involved in a hard landing incident at Vienna International Airport (LOWW), Vienna, Austria. The aircraft was operating a flight from Ljubljana Jože Pucnik Airport (LJLJ) in Ljubljana, Slovenia, to Vienna. The departure time from Ljubljana was not specified.
Sequence of Events
During the landing on Runway 29, the airplane's left and right wings struck the ground. Subsequently, the landing gear collapsed, and the aircraft veered off the runway near taxiway A5. The impact resulted in substantial damage to the aircraft.
Occupants and Injuries
The aircraft carried one pilot and two passengers. All three individuals were not seriously injured as a result of the incident.
