What happened
On October 19, 2012, at 1645L, a Boeing 737-4Q8, registration PK-CKN, was landing at Supadio Airport in Pontianak, Indonesia. The flight, operated by Sriwijaya Air, had originated from Jakarta.
During the landing phase, the aircraft overran the runway. The impact of the overrun resulted in a collapse of the nose undercarriage. At the time of the accident, the weather conditions consisted of heavy rain and thunderstorm activity in the vicinity of the airport, with the aircraft operating in IMC.
There were no injuries among the 160 passengers and crew on board.
