What happened
On October 29, 2012, a Cessna 152, registration N48340, was involved in an accident during the landing phase at Long Beach, CA. The student pilot reported that the aircraft made a hard landing, which caused the plane to bounce and enter a porpoising motion. During this oscillation, the aircraft subsequently landed on its nosewheel.
There were no injuries resulting from this event. Weather conditions at the time were reported as VMC with a visibility of 10 statute miles and winds from 220 degrees at 06 knots.
