Incident Overview
On 8 December 2012, at approximately 1326 UTC (2236 local time), a Boeing 737-800 registered as JA57AN and operated by All Nippon Airways overran the runway after landing at Shonai Airport (RJSY) in Yamagata, Japan. The aircraft came to rest in the grass area beyond the end of the runway. There was no damage to the aircraft and no injuries reported.
Investigation
The Japan Transport Safety Board (JTSB) is investigating the incident. As the state of manufacture of the aircraft, the United States National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13. Inquiries regarding the investigation should be directed to the JTSB.
