Accident Overview
On February 3, 2013, a Boeing 737 aircraft was involved in an accident. The Aviation and Railway Investigation Board of Korea (ARAIB) is conducting the investigation into this event. The ARAIB is the official investigative body for aviation accidents in Korea.
International Involvement
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has been notified of the accident and has appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the ARAIB. This appointment is made under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, which governs the investigation of aviation accidents. As the state of manufacturer and design of the Boeing 737, the United States is entitled to participate in the investigation. The NTSB representative will contribute technical knowledge about the aircraft's design and manufacturing.
Release of Information
All investigative findings and reports will be released by the ARAIB. The investigation is ongoing, and further details will be provided as they become available.
