Incident Summary
A pilot reported that during the takeoff ground roll from a private grass airstrip, the left main tire struck a rock partially hidden by tall grass, followed by the tailwheel also contacting the rock. Despite the impact, the pilot continued the takeoff and proceeded to the planned destination, where an uneventful landing was performed.
Post-Flight Inspection
After landing, examination of the airplane revealed that the rudder had sustained substantial damage. The pilot reported that there were no preimpact mechanical failures or malfunctions with the airplane or engine that would have precluded normal operation. The exact extent of the damage and any other affected components were not specified in the pilot's report.
