Accident Overview
On June 7, 2013, at 1400 coordinated universal time (UTC), a Piper PA-34-200T, Brazilian registration PT-MMX, was substantially damaged during a ditching into the Tarauacá River. The accident occurred following an unspecified malfunction of the airplane’s right engine after takeoff. The flight was operated by W. da S. Gomes ME and originated from Eirunepé, Brazil.
Occupants and Injuries
The aircraft carried six passengers. Of these, five sustained minor injuries and one was fatally injured. The pilot sustained serious injuries.
