2013 Air Tractor AT-802A Collision with Power Lines Near Huntingburg, Indiana (N86BM)

Flight and Accident Details On July 19, 2013, at approximately 1034 eastern daylight time, an Air Tractor AT-802A, N86BM, collided with suspended power lines near Huntingburg Airport (KHNB), Indiana. The aircraft was registered to and operated by Milhon Air, Inc. under 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 137 as an aerial application flight. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed, and the flight operated without a filed flight plan. The local flight originated from KHNB at 0930. The pilot was conducting an aerial application run on an easterly heading when the aircraft struck a suspended power line and impacted terrain about 1.5 miles east of KHNB. The aircraft continued toward a group of trees next to a lake, where it came to rest. The commercial pilot sustained serious injuries, and the aircraft was destroyed. The pilot told FAA inspectors he had no recollection of the accident flight.
