What happened
On July 29, 2013, at approximately 07:10 Beijing time, a Robinson R22, registration B-7036, crashed in Guangdong Province, China. The helicopter was being operated by Guangzhou Suilian Helicopter Aviation for the purpose of an instructional flight. The impact resulted in 2 fatal injuries to the two pilots on board. The aircraft sustained substantial damage.
The investigation
The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) is conducting the investigation into the accident. Because the aircraft and engines were manufactured in the United States, the NTSB has appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to participate in the investigation under ICAO Annex 13 protocols.
