Accident
On October 13, 2013, a Robinson R44-II helicopter, Russian registration UP-RB002, operated by a private individual, impacted flat terrain near Beles, Kazakhstan, Russia. The accident occurred at an unknown time during night visual meteorological conditions. Information regarding a flight plan was not available. The personal flight had departed from the Beles Landing Site in Beles, Kazakhstan, Russia.
The helicopter departed before sunrise and impacted terrain approximately four minutes later. The cockpit, main rotor blades, and tail rotor blades were destroyed. The tailboom remained intact. Investigators stated that the distribution of the wreckage indicated the helicopter struck the ground while under power.
The pilot and passenger sustained fatal injuries. The helicopter was destroyed by impact forces.
