Incident
While attempting to land on runway 08, the airplane encountered a crosswind from the south. After the airplane touched down, the nose yawed approximately 30 degrees to the right. In response, the pilot advanced the throttle to abort the landing and perform a go-around.
During the go-around, the tailwheel became entangled in a barbed-wire fence. The entanglement caused the airplane to impact the ground. The right wing sustained substantial damage, though the report did not specify other damage or injuries.
Investigation
The pilot reported that there were no preaccident mechanical malfunctions or failures with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation. The investigation did not assign a probable cause for the event, nor did it identify any contributing factors beyond the circumstances described.
No information was provided regarding the aircraft type, registration, operator, location, date, time of day, weather conditions beyond the crosswind, or involvement of air traffic control.
