What happened
On December 26, 2013, at approximately 2148 UTC, a Cessna 172A, registered as PT-CNL, was performing touch-and-go landings in the Teresimna Municipality, State of Piauí, Brazil. The flight had originated from Teresina International Airport (SBTE).
Shortly after the aircraft's second takeoff from SBTE, it struck the ground approximately 130 meters from the left side of the runway. The impact was followed by an explosion that destroyed the aircraft. The accident resulted in 4 fatal injuries, claiming the lives of the pilot, the copilot, and two passengers.
