Accident Overview
On December 30, 2013, at approximately 1030 local time, a Bell 206 helicopter, registration PK-DAL, crashed shortly after departing from a hospital near Berastagi, North Sumatera, Indonesia. The helicopter was on a domestic flight with a planned destination of Simalungun, North Sumatera.
Casualties and Injuries
The accident resulted in one fatality and two serious injuries. No other occupancy details were provided.
Investigation
The National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC) of Indonesia is leading the investigation. In accordance with ICAO Annex 13, the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative as the State of Manufacture and Design of the engine.
