Accident Sequence
Following touchdown, the airplane began to yaw left, moving toward the left side of the runway. The pilot applied right rudder to correct the yaw. While the yaw stopped, the airplane subsequently entered a hard right turn. Despite the pilot applying left rudder, the right turn could not be arrested. The airplane continued turning, completing approximately 300 degrees of rotation before coming to a stop on the runway.
Damage
During the ground loop, the left wing contacted the runway surface, resulting in substantial damage to the aircraft.
Pilot Report
The pilot reported no preimpact mechanical malfunctions or failures with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
