Accident Overview
A pilot reported that while landing at a remote airstrip in a tailwheel-equipped airplane, the approach was about 5 mph fast, causing him to miss his planned touchdown point. He continued the landing and consequently applied more brakes than planned, resulting in the airplane nosing over.
Damage
The airplane sustained substantial damage to one of the wings, a lift strut, the vertical stabilizer, the rudder, and the fuselage.
Pilot Report
The pilot reported that there were no preaccident mechanical anomalies with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
