Accident Details
On September 5, 2014, at approximately 0955 UTC, a Robinson R44 helicopter, serial number 11709 and registration OY-HRG, impacted the sea between Rosnaes and Samso, Denmark. The helicopter was in radio and radar contact with Copenhagen Information, which had reported marginal VFR weather in the area near Samso. Shortly thereafter, Copenhagen Information lost communications and radar contact with the helicopter. The helicopter sustained substantial damage, and the four occupants received fatal injuries.
Search and Rescue
Following the loss of contact, Copenhagen Information initiated a search and rescue mission. No further details regarding the rescue efforts have been released in this preliminary report.

This accident is under the jurisdiction and control of the Accident Investigation Board of Denmark. As Denmark is the State of Occurrence and the design state is the United States, an accredited representative from the United States has been designated to participate in the investigation under Annex 13 of the Convention on International Civil Aviation.
