What happened
On September 5, 2014, at approximately 0955 UTC, a Robinson R40 II helicopter, registration OY-HRG, impacted the sea between Rosnaes and Samso, Denmark. Prior to the accident, the aircraft was in both radio and radar contact with Copenhagen Information. At the time of the incident, Copenhagen Information had reported marginal VFR weather conditions in the vicinity of Samso.
Following the loss of radio and radar contact with the helicopter, a search and rescue mission was initiated. The aircraft sustained substantial damage and the 4 occupants were fatally injured.
