On September 6, 2014, a Shaheen Air International Airbus A330-301, operating as AP-BKN, was cruising at flight level 370 when the number 1 (left) engine experienced a low pressure turbine failure. The flight had originated in Saudi Arabia.

The flight crew reported hearing a thud, which was followed by a decrease in N1 and thrust from the left engine. In response, the crew moved the thrust lever to the idle position. Following this action, all engine parameters returned to normal levels, and no ECAM or other warnings were triggered. The N1 remained at 68%.

The aircraft continued the flight to its destination in Lahore, Pakistan, where it completed an uneventful landing. There were no injuries resulting from this event.
