Pilot Reports Drift and Loss of Airspeed During Takeoff from Remote Airstrip

Accident Summary

A pilot departing from a remote airstrip encountered a left crosswind of approximately 3-4 knots. During the takeoff roll, the airplane deviated left of the intended path and entered low-lying brush adjacent to the airstrip. The pilot attempted to correct the drift by applying right control inputs, but the airplane did not respond as expected.

The airplane subsequently became airborne but lacked the necessary airspeed to maintain controlled flight. It then descended downhill, striking brush and terrain. The impact caused substantial damage to both wings and the fuselage.
