Incident Notification
On October 4, 2014, an Emirates Airbus A330-200 was involved in an incident. The United Arab Emirates General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) notified the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of the occurrence.
Investigative Roles
Under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, the NTSB has appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the GCAA investigation. This appointment is made because the United States is the State of Manufacturer and Design of the engine involved in the incident.
Investigation Oversight
Investigative information regarding this incident will be released by the GCAA. The NTSB’s role is limited to providing technical assistance as the state of design and manufacture of the engine.
