Accident
On October 7, 2014, at an unknown time, a Robinson R44 helicopter, registration ZK-HBQ, collided with terrain near Mount Arthur, New Zealand. The helicopter was operated by Helicopter Charter Karamea under the civil aviation regulations of New Zealand. The flight originated from Karamea and was destined for Nelson.
Damage and Injuries
The helicopter was destroyed by impact forces and a postcrash fire. The pilot sustained fatal injuries.
Investigation
The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Government of New Zealand, conducted by the Transport Accident Investigation Commission (TAIC).
