What happened

On October 30, 2014, at approximately 0330 UTC, a Liberty Aerospace XL2, registration PK-LLCO, was reported missing after the crew lost contact with the aircraft. The aircraft was being operated by the Lombok Institute of Flight Technology under Indonesian civil regulations.

Following a search operation, the wreckage was located on December 15, 2014, south of Moyo Island in Sumbawa, Indonesia. The accident resulted in 2 fatalities, involving the certified flight instructor and the student pilot. The aircraft sustained substantial damage.
