What happened
On December 24, 2014, at approximately 1950 UTC, a Cessna T207A, registration HK4892, crashed into mountains near Vereda Cabreras, Punto el Guanabanazo, in the Piedecuesta region of Santander, Colombia.
The aircraft, operated by Aerolineas Alas De Colombia LTDA, was performing a non-scheduled domestic passenger flight. The flight departed from Palonegro International Airport (SKBG) at approximately 1939 UTC, en route to Malaga Airport (SKLA). The flight was operating under visual flight rules (VFR) toward a destination located roughly 36 nautical miles from the departure point.
Following takeoff, the aircraft failed to reach its intended destination. After the aircraft was noted missing, search and rescue operations were initiated. The impact with the terrain destroyed the airplane, and there was no post-crash fire. The accident resulted in 7 fatal injuries, involving the pilot and six passengers.
