Accident Overview
On December 24, 2014, at approximately 1950 UTC, a Cessna T207A aircraft, registration HK4892, collided with mountainous terrain near Vereda Cabreras, Punto el Guanabanazo, in the area of Pescadero Piedecuesta, Santander, Colombia. The aircraft was destroyed by impact forces, and there was no postcrash fire.
Flight Details
The flight was a non-scheduled domestic passenger operation conducted by Aerolineas Alas De Colombia LTDA. It departed from Palonegro International Airport (SKBG) in Lebrija, Santander, at about 1939 UTC, with an intended destination of Malaga Airport (SKLA) in Malaga, Santander. The flight proceeded under a VFR flight plan, and the destination was approximately 36 nautical miles at a bearing of 133 degrees from the departure airport. The aircraft did not arrive at its destination, prompting search and rescue operations.
Occupants and Damage
The aircraft carried a commercial pilot and six passengers. All seven occupants were fatally injured. The airplane was destroyed by the impact forces; no fire occurred after the crash.
