Notification
The Civil Aviation Organization of the Islamic Republic of Iran (CAO.IRI) notified the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of an incident involving an Airbus A320-200. The incident occurred on February 15, 2015. The notification was made under international protocols.
Investigation Role
The NTSB has appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the CAO investigation. The appointment is based on the United States being the State of Design of the airplane's engines, as specified in ICAO Annex 13. The representative will participate in the investigation.

All investigative information will be released by the CAO. The NTSB will not publish details independently. The incident is currently under investigation by the CAO.
