Event Description
During the landing flare, the pilot reported a sudden sensation that "the air was sucked out from under the plane." The airplane subsequently contacted the runway hard on the main landing gear. This initial hard landing caused the aircraft to bounce back into the air. After the bounce, the airplane touched down for a second time, during which the nose landing gear buckled.
Damage
The accident resulted in substantial damage to the airplane's firewall. The nose landing gear was buckled due to the hard second touchdown. The extent of the damage was limited to these areas, with no other structural failures noted.
