Incident Overview
A pilot reported a loss of directional control during the landing rollout. As the nose wheel made contact with the runway, the aircraft "hopped a bit" and began to veer to the left. The pilot applied right rudder and brakes but found these inputs ineffective. He then released the rudder and brakes, but the aircraft continued to the left, departing the runway surface and impacting a raised taxiway.
Damage
The aircraft sustained substantial damage to the right wing as a result of the collision with the raised taxiway.
Pilot Report
The pilot stated that there were no pre-existing mechanical failures or malfunctions with the aircraft that would have prevented normal operation.
