What happened
On May 21, 2015, at approximately 1245 UTC, a Robin DR400-140B, registered as F-GBUP, crashed into a cultivated field near Arras-Roclincourt Airport (LFQD) in Arras, France. The aircraft was performing a touch-and-go maneuver at the airport when the engine lost power. Following the loss of power, the crew attempted to execute a U-turn to return to the airport, but the aircraft departed controlled flight and struck a corn field.
The accident resulted in 2 fatal injuries and 1 serious injury. The aircraft was destroyed by a fire following the impact. At the time of the accident, weather conditions were visual meteorological conditions (VMC).
