Incident Overview
The pilot reported that during the landing roll, he applied the brakes. The airplane subsequently made a left turn, exited the left side of the runway, and impacted a hangar. The left wing sustained substantial damage.
Post-Accident Examination
Following the incident, Federal Aviation Administration Air Safety Inspectors examined the airplane. The inspection identified a failure of the airplane's master brake cylinder. The master cylinder was found to be leaking hydraulic fluid, and no fluid was present in the brake system's reservoir.
Pilot Report
According to the pilot, there were no mechanical malfunctions or failures with the airplane prior to or during the flight that would have precluded normal operation.
