Accident Details
On July 9, 2015, at 0225 Universal Coordinated Time, a Bell 407 helicopter, registration B-7723, crashed at the Qiandao Lake General Aviation airport in Zhejiang Province, People's Republic of China. The accident occurred while the helicopter was conducting a post-repair hovering test. The aircraft sustained substantial damage in the crash.
Occupants
A total of seven people were on board the helicopter at the time of the accident. Two of the occupants were reported as fatalities. The remaining five occupants sustained injuries ranging from serious to minor.
Operation and Investigation
The helicopter was being operated under the pertinent civil regulations of the Government of China. The accident is being investigated by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC). Under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has designated a U.S. Accredited Representative, as the United States is the state of manufacture for the engine.
