Incident Overview
On July 22, 2015, at 1325 local time, a Bell 407 helicopter registered as P2-HCB and operated by Hevilift lost engine power while maneuvering away from a drilling and exploration camp near Tifalmin Village, Papua New Guinea. The helicopter subsequently made a hard landing, which caused substantial damage to the aircraft. The sole occupant, the pilot, received minor injuries.

The flight was being conducted under the civil aviation regulations of the Government of Papua New Guinea. The helicopter was registered to and operated by Hevilift.
