Accident Details
On August 14, 2015, at approximately 0830 local time (1130 coordinated universal time), a Robinson R44 Raven II helicopter, designated A02 and operated by the Paraguayan National Police, was destroyed when it impacted terrain in Limpio, Paraguay. The accident site was located about 6 nautical miles northeast of Asuncion, Paraguay. Instrument meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the accident.
Occupants and Injuries
The Paraguayan pilot sustained fatal injuries. The two passengers on board were seriously injured.
Flight Information
The flight originated at Helipuerto Base Alto Parana in Ciudad del Este, Paraguay, and was destined for Helipuerto Base Aeronaval in Asuncion, Paraguay. The operation was conducted under Paraguayan flight regulations.
