Accident
On September 9, 2015, at approximately 0015 UTC, a Robinson R-44 helicopter, registration C-GZFX, owned and operated by Apex Helicopters Inc., was located in a heavily wooded area about 17 nautical miles south of Foleyet, Ontario. The helicopter had departed the previous day, September 8, 2015, around 0100 UTC, from a camp on Horwood Lake, Ontario, and was destined for a forestry camp near Rollo Lake, Ontario.
Investigation
The Transportation Safety Board (TSB) of Canada is investigating the occurrence. The pilot and one passenger sustained fatal injuries.
