On September 14, 2015, an incident occurred involving a Boeing 737-800 operated by Ryanair near Frankfort, Germany. The aircraft, registered as EI-EKC, was the subject of an investigation by the German Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation (BFU).
Under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, the NTSB appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative to support the BFU in its investigation, acting as the State of Manufacturer and Design for the aircraft. There were no injuries reported in relation to this event.
