Accident Overview
On November 22, 2015, at approximately 0302 Coordinated Universal Time, a Bell 206 helicopter bearing Taiwan registration B-31127 and operated by Emerald Pacific Airlines was destroyed following an impact with terrain. The accident occurred about 7 nautical miles southwest of Taipei Songshan Airport, Taiwan.
Crew and Aircraft
Both crew members on board received fatal injuries. The helicopter was engaged in an unknown operation at the time of the accident.
Investigation
The Aviation Safety Council (ASC) of Taiwan is conducting the investigation into the accident. In accordance with Annex 13 to the Convention on International Civil Aviation, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of the United States, as the state of manufacture of the helicopter engine, has designated a U.S. Accredited Representative to assist the ASC in the investigation.
