Incident Overview
On November 29, 2015, at 1350 UTC, a Cessna Citation 560XL, registration SE-RHJ, encountered an in-flight cowling departure during its descent into Farnborough Airport in Farnborough, Hampshire, United Kingdom. The aircraft subsequently landed without further incident.
Post-Flight Findings
A thorough examination after landing identified damage to the leading edges of the vertical stabilizer and the left elevator. The two crew members on board were not injured.
Investigation
The investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Air Accident Investigation Branch (AAIB) of the United Kingdom. As the State of Design, the United States has designated an accredited representative to participate in the investigation under Annex 13 of the Convention on International Civil Aviation.
