Occurrence
On 28 July 2015, a glider of type SZD-50-3 Puchacz, registered as SP-3257 with serial number B-1339, performed a hard landing at Lublin-Radawiec Airport (EPLR). The aircraft had accumulated a total of 2,035 flight hours and 7,616 flight cycles prior to the event.
Damage
During a post-flight technical inspection conducted in accordance with Chapter 3.4 of the Maintenance Manual, inspectors discovered a crack in the main landing gear structure and damage to the lower fuselage structure.
Cause
The investigation determined that the hard landing caused structural loads that exceeded the permissible limits.
